  10:40-11:10 Sugarplums - Gerry McWilliams, a multi-instrumentalist Philly native and Alzara Getz, west coast child of Rock and Roll pedigree. Together they are genre defying, yet deliciously catchy, combining old-time sensibilities that warm the soul with the newest in bohemian-pop-rock to stretch the boundaries of melody and mood.
  
  Alzara's plaintive pipes call us back to the divine feminine that is reminiscent of Deborah Harry at her brashest, Marilyn at her most seductive, Stevie Nicks at her most mysterious.   On Monday, November 23, 2009 at around 10pm, I am excited for the opportunity to sing & play on my guitar a set of words, rhythm, & rhyme at a cabaret show called the Cat's Pajamas at San Francisco's The Make-Out Room. I'll be sharing the stage with a few of San Francisco's fabulous favorites.
  
  The Cat's Pajamas is a monthly cabaret featuring spoken word, music, dance, and performance art acts that are an ode to the cultural aesthetics of the past. This month join us for "Torchlight Speakeasy", a night of emotive celebration with "Blue Rabbit" headlining. I perform at 10pm or so, right before our headiner, Blue Rabbit. Here's the scoop on the performers:
  
  Blue Rabbit is an eight-piece multi-instrumental and vocal ensemble that fuses alternative indie pop with baroque elements, modern rhythms, and a hint of cabaret. Fronted by a close-harmony singing trio, the band includes a cellist, keyboards and a harp. Blue Rabbit has been described as “Nick Cavesque with a touch of The Supremes.” Blue Rabbit’s lyrical imagery and haunting, minor-key melodies evoke a sense of magical melancholy.
  
  Marc Kockinos - Founder of the influential San Diego based Poetic Brew Open Mic. His dark and intense poetry has been shaking people up ever since he accidentally discovered he was a writer.
