...The acting muse continues to be fed. I completed a run with Berkeley Playhouse playing the role of Bird Girl in Seussical the Musical! having been cast alongside some amazing musical theater actors. It was an amazing production. Earlier this year I was peformed with some Divalicious women for a benefit performance of Eve Ensler's The Vagina Monologues for V-Day Marin 2008 and it was exhilarating! The bonding experienced amongst "we" performing women surpassed the delight in having participated in raising over $10,000 between 2007 & 2008 for some great causes. Go figure!~
What a gift, opportunity, and privilege it is always is to perform, keeping the Muse exercised, while leaving her space and time to grow, learn, and offer us more improvised creativity! In Song, Stage, Screen, and in Life! Just completed a short film which was shown on February 8, 2008 in Emeryville. Also I played the role of Laura Wing in the film Doorman (See Trailer), written and directed by Kristian Hansen. Last year I was also delighted to perform as an improv actor with the infamous Improv/Sketch Comedy Troupe Oui Be Negroes, originally from Chicago.

NKECHI (pronounced nnn-KAY-chee) has creatively expressed herself in many ways over time, as a fashion model, to the face in commercials, to lead roles in film. NKECHI's first real job was as an engineer for a leading semi-conductor computer chip manufacturer. Meanwhile, her heart and soul have always been in the development and pursuit of her creative talents. NKECHI started in the entertainment industry as a Bay Area model and then was thrust to national recognition through commercials after taking a few on-camera workshops. Yet, it was not until studying Meisner technique with Rachael Adler that she truly caught the acting bug. After a stint in LA and later fine tuning and coaching from Joe Mazza, NKECHI has quickly added lead roles in independent films to her talent resume. Since leaving engineering NKECHI has discovered that she is a multi-talented performer: professional actress and improvisor, singer-songwriter and poet, live vocalist and performance artist, spokesperson and model to name a few! Whew! For the past year she has been an improvising with the Sketch Comedy/Improv troupe Oui Be Negroes. Most recently NKECHI has emerged into the San Francisco music scene, bright-eyed and naïve with guitar, as a pure performance artist. With Erykah Badu sass, the rich vocal textures of Sade and Seal, and a Madonna-like capacity for ever-evolving style, NKECHI is truly a one-of-a-kind all aorund entertainer. Meet NKECHI through her performances in SONG (vocals, lyrics, and music), STAGE (theatre and improv), and SCREEN (TV and film). NKECHI is Organic Astral Soul for the Spirit!

NKECHI was cast in benefit perfomance of Eve Ensler's The Vagina Monologues alongside Jane Ganahl (who replaced Robin Wright Penn), Nina Wise, Shaun Landry and Kaytie O'Hara! Kristian Hansen wrote and directed the film DOORMAN where he cast NKECHI in the lead role of Laura Wing and NICK CIMILUCA in the lead role of Harris Stone. The trailer has just been released and the film debuted on April 10th at Parkway Theatre in Oakland.
