5 shows in 4 days :-)

We played at El Rio on Thursday, two shows at Civic Center Plaza all day Saturday, and I played two slots on Sunday at the Cole Valley Fair making for 5 shows in 4 days. What a blast this has been. I caught a glimpse of what it will be like to be a full-time recording and performing artist. And was blessed with inspiration like never before about bringing free music concerts to the parks and plazas of San Francisco and the world beyond so that healing through music can be brought to my fellow peeps who don't have the privilege to attend the ticketed shows in their local areas. Playing at San Francisco's Civic Center Plaza in front of the beautiful organic garden felt more "free" than I've ever felt before at a show. The sun, the space, the air, and the people, there were hundreds of them fed me. And then in the most amusing way, just when me and the guys were about to peter out, a beautiul toddler angel dropped some money in a bucket she thought was a tip jar. Instantly I was catapulted into the fourth dimension where space and time stood still and I realized I AM a musician after all.  The glee she transferred to us by "tipping" the musicians was more than I could express in words. Now I get why musicians busque. And so when I played at the Cole Vally Fair I left my guitar case open and it was blessed by tips that tithed to the Muse and allowed her even more opportunity to express herself in all her colors. I will be high for a while on these last few days of events. All this one week before I am surrendered to a 6 day a week theatre rehearsal schedule. So, 5 Shows in 4 days Yeah? I can live like this forever. Oh, and while rehearsing and preparing for the Civic Center Plaza gig with one of the two instantiations of bands who support me, another jam band song "Ma'a Afrika" came through. I love recording rehearsals because I get to capture the inspiration of the moment. I love living in the moment. Here is a moment for you. Enjoy "Ma'a Afrika".
